25 Years Ago Today

Twenty-Five Years ago today…

England met Italy in a flurry of snow flakes that day in January, 1985, as a blizzard smothered the hills of Pottsville. It was a day of white – from her dress, to his suit, to the snow. Vows were taken, rings exchanged, hugs from all of the guests, then a quick bite of cake, and he whisked her off her feet to….more snow on the slopes of Austria for their honeymoon. :)

Dad & Mom have been faithful examples to us in many ways over the years. They have desired to raise each of their children up in the ways of God. Reminds me of the verses about Abraham in Genesis 18. The Lord knew he was trustworthy to carry out the task He had set before him: “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD

And as they strove together to lead us each in the knowledge and love of the Lord, we have chosen to turn our own hearts towards Him for ourselves…which often makes me think of this verse: “Now we believe,  not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.”

And they both live happily ever after... :)

“…Choose you this day whom ye will serve…but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15

One Response to “25 Years Ago Today”

  1. Prov15:13a A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance…(unless I was sharing a bit of bad/sad news…I have never known mom or dad NOT have a smile on their face) May you ‘all’ treasure the “TREASURES” within your household :) We were wishing our best to mom & dad (from our household)…hard to believe 25 yrs–but so glad the Lord let our paths cross..luv, Mrs N
